Cumbernauld Rotarians pictured with Beechgrove Garden presenters Carol Baxter, Lesley Watson and Carolyn Spray as an imaginative project at Glencryan School comes to an end. Commenting on the project Club Secretary Frank Clark said “this is a fantastic initiative which The Rotary Club of Cumbernauld is proud to be associated with although the credit must go to Rotarian Bobby Johnstone who has worked tirelessly for weeks to make the schools dream a reality. Bobby has drawn on all of his contacts and local businesses have contributed a staggering £186000 of materials and labour to bring the various elements of the project together. This shows that real community spirit is alive and well in Cumbernauld. The work has included the creation of a tiered amphitheatre with wheelchair access, raised beds for easy access to a wide range of plants and shrubs, tree planting and much more and now needs only the final finishing touches
